About LSR Partners LLP

Laura graduated from Manchester University with a PhD in Chemistry before training as a Chartered Accountant at PwC in Birmingham whilst in their Global Mobility Tax Team. Laura qualified as ACA in 2016. After qualifying, Laura moved to her family’s Accountancy Firm in Stafford where she set up her own tax Practice within the firm, focusing on individuals referred to her by PwC. With her focus on Global Mobility, many of these clients were either moving abroad or moving into the UK and as such Laura has developed formidable expertise dealing with all aspects of UK expatriate tax within the wider UK individual tax system.

Laura met Simon when Simon and his wife approached her as clients. Laura completed several complex tax returns for Simon and his wife – given their time abroad, all of Laura’s expertise of expatriate tax matters really came to the fore. In early 2023, Simon and Laura first begun discussions about Simon investing in and joining Laura’s existing business and in August 2023 Laura and Simon together founded LSR Partners.

Simon graduated in 1998 from Durham University before joining Arthur Andersen in London where he qualified ACA in 2002, become a Fellow of the Institute in 2013. From there he embarked on a career in Investment Banking primarily at Deutsche Bank, working for them in London, Tokyo and Singapore, where his final position was Co-Head of Corporate Finance for Asia Pacific. After relocating back to the UK with Macquarie – the leading Australian Investment Bank – he left the financial industry in 2022.

Simon met Laura through Laura’s family business as both Simon and his wife were Laura’s clients. So impressed was he by the service, professionalism and expertise that Laura provided that when the opportunity came, Simon jumped at the chance to invest in and join Laura’s business and together they founded LSR Partners.
